Google’s updated financial products and services policy now allows regulated cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets to advertise in the United States and Japan starting August 3, 2021.
The tech giant said it will update its financial products and services policy in August to “clarify the scope and requirements to allow the advertisement of cryptocurrency related business and services.”
According to the new policy, crypto exchanges and wallets can ferry their services via Google advertisements but the ads will remain valid only for exchanges and wallets serving customers in the USA and Japan.
Google has further added that crypto advertisements that contain endorsements of “initial coin offerings, DeFi trading protocols, or otherwise promoting the purchase, sale, or trade of cryptocurrencies or related products,” as well as ones that “aggregate or compare issuers of cryptocurrencies or related products” will also be not allowed.
