Hacktivist group Anonymous has vowed to “make sure” that Do Kwon, the co-founder of Terra, is “brought to justice as soon as possible,” in regards to the May collapse of the Terra ecosystems.
On Sunday, a video allegedly made by the hacker collective Anonymous rehashed a long list of Kwon’s alleged wrongdoings, including withdrawing $80 million per month from UST and LUNA before the latter’s collapse and his part in the demise of the stable coin Basis Cash, which Do Kwon is said to have co-founded in late 2020 under the alias “Rick Sanchez”:
“Do Kwon, if you are listening, sadly, there is nothing that can be done to reverse the damage that you have done. At this point, the only thing that we can do is hold you accountable and make sure that you are brought to justice as soon as possible.”
The hacker group declared it would be investigating Do Kwon’s activities ever since he entered the cryptosphere in order to reveal his alleged misdeeds. Additionally, they chastised Kwon for using “arrogant tactics” to harass rivals and detractors and for “acting like he would never fail.”
“Anonymous is looking into Do Kwon’s entire history since he entered the crypto space to see what we can learn and bring to light. There is no doubt that there are many more crimes to be discovered in your trail of destruction,” the group stated.
The assertion that Do Kwon had been withdrawing $80 million each month for over three years prior to the Terra collapse was initially made by @FatManTerra, who provided an interrelationship to a Twitter thread. Do Kwon, however, refuted the accusation and stated that his principal source of income has been a cash paycheck from Terraform Labs.
Anonymous, a decentralized multinational activist collective that got its start in 2003 on 4chan, is most known for planning cyberattacks against public and commercial sector targets, including the Church of Scientology.
The same YouTube channel attacked Tesla CEO Elon Musk in June 2021 for supposedly “destroying lives” by manipulating the cryptocurrency markets using his power and influence on Twitter.
The price of LUNA coin, which was formerly among the top-5 cryptocurrencies by market cap, crashed to almost zero as a result of the collapse of the Terra ecosystem, which has shaken the cryptocurrency world.
The collapse of the multibillion-dollar network has created a wave of anxiety, fear, and mistrust across the cryptocurrency industry, drawing the attention and inquiry of regulators around the world. Do Kwon has been invited to a South Korean parliamentary hearing on the subject.
