PayPal to buy crypto custody firm Curv (4:50). Curv will be sold between 200 and 300 million dollar, and although the buyer is formally not confirmed, sources mention it’s PayPal who want to set up an in house custody solution. PayPal already tried to buy BitGo last year however the deal fell through.
Sony joins Theta Network as a validator node (7:45). Theta Network is a blockchain-based media sharing network. Sony claims that Theta can provide ‘effective tools for license and rights management’.
There is also some NFT news, Hex Trust, a licensed trust company based in Hong Kong, is launching a custody service for Non-Fungible Tokens (9:30). With NFT collectibles now fetching prices in the millions of dollars the firm states that owners need a safe custody service.
