The Socios.com platform is making tremendous gains in improving the sports fan experience by signing Lionel Messi as its new ambassador.
The Scoville testnet for the newly built layer-1 blockchain network Chiliz Chain 2.0, commonly known as CC2, has been launched by digital asset sporting project Chiliz.
Following the successful implementation of a six-phase testnet roadmap, each iteration’s title is connected with the brand’s ethos and follows a chronological order based on the Scoville scale for chili peppers.
The mainnet launch of the Habanero is planned to take place between Q3 and Q4 of this year, with the purpose of promoting the sports app ahead of the Qatar World Cup 2022.
CC2 will work to improve high-profile sporting and entertainment companies’ Web3 capabilities, such as their ability to create non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and fan tokens, build decentralized finance (DeFi) applications and play-to-earn (P2E) games, and implement a variety of programs and services for their communities.
Chiliz, based in Malta, was founded in 2018 and has quickly established itself as the premier digital asset for athletic interaction, with their native token, CHZ, serving as the principal money on the fan-focused Socios.com website.
The Chiliz Chain 2.0 blockchain network, which focuses on the sports and entertainment industries, was created in partnership with Ankr, a decentralized infrastructure protocol.
Chiliz chief strategy officer Max Rabinovitch explained the stakeholder approval procedure and the on-chain validation method proposed within the proof-of-stake authority paradigm, saying:
“The number of validators will increase over time as the ecosystem grows and the fees are significant enough to be shared across more validators.”
“Approval of the validators must go through our governance process, with validators voting to approve any new validators. Voting power will depend on the amount of $CHZ stacked by each validator.”
Socios.com, the company behind Chiliz’s unveiling of football legend Lionel Messi as the company’s first worldwide brand ambassador, is also a part of their public relations strategy. The contract was reportedly worth more than $20 million and was signed for a three-year term.
Socios believes that the acquisition will expand global prospects for fan participation in their favorite game, as well as inspire more engagement in digital asset experiences on their platform.
