Phantom Wallet is launching a mobile app to help the thriving Solana ecosystem expand even faster.
Phantom is a popular and widely used wallet in the Solana ecosystem.
According to project statistics, the project’s browser-based wallet has over 1 million weekly users.
The non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet created for the Solana ecosystem announced today that they will be releasing a mobile version of their wallet for iPhone and Android.
The move reflects the growing opinion among crypto developers that mobile is critical to cryptocurrency widespread acceptance. Traditional financial services, such as cashing checks and swiping cards, have migrated to phones, and crypto is expected to follow suit.
Solana Labs, which builds on the proof-of-stake ecosystem, has been bullish on mobile wallet integrations in recent weeks.
Phantom’s yet-to-be-released mobile wallet, according to Head of Growth Matty Tay, may “open the floodgates” to millions of new customers. The news was timed to coincide with Solana’s Breakpoint conference in Lisbon.
