The 54th World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting commencing on January 15, 2024, in Davos, Switzerland, will witness global leaders from over 100 governments, international organizations, partner companies and media coming together. The core theme of this year’s conference focuses on “Rebuilding Trust” amidst rapidly shifting geopolitical climates, economic policies, and technological transformations.
The event plans on laying stress on six fundamental themes – Economic resilience, energy transition, globalization, productive use of artificial intelligence (AI), strengthening institutional structures, and prioritizing women’s health. Understandably, blockchain and crypto-based solutions have been steadily gaining traction in these global events over the last few years.
In a first, the emphasis this year shifts towards the potential of AI and tokenization of real-world assets. Key sessions include a public conference titled “The Tokenization Economy,” set for January 17, where discussions will revolve around the main principles of tokenization, its practical applications and future directions. Renowned participants such as Circle’s CEO Jeremy and Stellar Development Foundation’s CEO Denelle Dixon will partake in the conversation.
A subsequent discussion lined up for January 18 titled “Clear-Eyed about Crypto” will contemplate the future of digital assets and cryptocurrencies. This dialogue will critically weigh how regulators can promote innovation while ensuring consumer protection in the evolving digital landscape.
