Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary, aka Mr. Wonderful, has begun investing in Bitcoin. The move is a complete 180-degree turn from the high-profile investor who previously called the cryptocurrency “garbage,” and a “nothing burger.” In an exclusive with Daniela Cambone from Stansberry Research, he reveals the tipping point that caused him to change his stance. O’Leary says he allocated 3% of his portfolio to Bitcoin. The investor has a net worth of over $400 million as of today and runs the popular O’Shares ETF product among other businesses.
I’ve owned Bitcoin and Ethereum since 2017 but have not really been able to speak about it because regulators really frown on it.
The gamechanger for him are the issued and upcoming ETF’s in Canada and Switzerland. Beside that he is worried about the helicopter money that has been printed and is looking how to hedge against that. He thinks that a 2 to 3 percent allocation in Bitcoin is a good bet.
